Start at Highway 190 and travel southeast along Furnace Creek Road. Once you come to Dantes View Road, you will go another 5.5 miles, all while gaining altitude. In fact, when you get to the best view, you will be at nearly 5,500 feet high. Travel on a clear day to see Furnace Creek, Mount Whitney and Badwater Basin.

Head east from Ranchita through Borrego Springs to experience sharp and thrilling turns, as well as panoramic views. Just keep an eye out for those Borrego bighorn sheep.
